So today i made a cake and its super tastey! i got this recipe online, but im going to re-write it seeing as i did a few things different that helped improved the taste. some of you may know i have a passion for baking, and in some cases cooking. i have always felt comfortable in a kitchen, being responsible for what i am making and learing from my MANY, MANY mistakes. i find it so fun. so anyway i will stop babbaling and i will show you the ingredients and the steps.
For the cake
- 225g baking spread
- 225g self-raising flour
- 1 level tsp baking powder
- 100g golden caster sugar
- 100g brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- finely grated zest of 2 oranges
chocolate sprinkles
For the butter icing
- 150g butter, softened
- 300g icing sugar, sifted
- finely grated zest of 2 oranges
For the glaze
- 25g caster sugar
- juice of 2 oranges
- Pre heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas mark 4.You will need 2 x 20cm loose-bottomed sandwich tins, greased and bases lined with baking parchment. Measure all the cake ingredients into a large bowl, then add 3 table spoons of water to the mix.(reserve a little orange zest for decoration) and beat with a wooden spoon or electric hand mixer until combined and smooth.
- Divide evenly between the 2 tins. Bake for 20-25 mins or until well risen, lightly golden and shrinking away from the sides of the tins. After 5 mins, remove from the tins and leave to cool on a wire rack.
- To make the icing, put the butter and icing sugar into a bowl and mix with an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy. Stir in the orange zest.
- Remove the paper from the cakes. Sit 1 cake upside down on a plate. Make the glaze by putting the caster sugar and orange juice into a saucepan, stirring over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Boil until reduced by half, then brush half on the upside-down cake, using a pastry brush. Spread half the butter icing over the glazed cake. Sit the other cake on top, brush with the remaining glaze, then spread with the remaining butter icing. Scatter with the reserved orange zest. The cake is best eaten on the day, but will keep for up to 3 days in a cool place. It freezes well un-iced or filled. enjoy!
i really like the taste of this cake, it is partially sickly, but the orange give is a citrus hint which i love. the sponge itself is quite dense, i would of liked it to me more fluffier, but i am not complaining, it doesn't taste bad at all (don't mean to honk my own horn, but, HONK)!
if your going to try this, make sure the orange zest is finely grated, i imagine a chunk of orange skin in your mouth isn't the nicest thing!

These brushes are absolutely amazing!! the quality of them is so unreal!
the first brush is a buffing/blusher brush which i personally use for my bronzes to contour and also my blushers.
the second brush i use to go around my brows when i apply concealer around them, and it really sharpens them up and makes them look very, lets say, SWISH!!
the next three brushes i use for my eyeshadow. the first one of the three is great for patting down loose eyeshadow, the second one is really great for blending the shadow, and the last one is really good for getting into the nooks and crannys of the eyes, for instance the water line.
the next brush is an angled brush. personally i use this for filling my eyebrows, and its really good! and the last brush is for combing through your brows which i use after i fill them!
over all these brushes are definantly worthit and i really reccomend purchasing these brushes as they are definantly up there with the real techniques brushes!!

So i bought this lipgloss by Bourjois. its called Rouge Edition Velvet in 07, Nude-ist`. this is so great! probably one of my favorite lip buys so far! it also drys matte, and stays on without the dry crumbly look some products do!
This was £8.99 in boots, click here to look / purchase it!
The next i purchased was the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Cool Medium, i got this because my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer was about to run out, and everyone had been raving about this one, so i thought i'd try it out. I haven't used it properly, but will do some reviews on this soon if you would like. This was much cheaper that the Wake Me Up concealer, but I'm sure its good, as many people have been saying.
This is £3.99 in Boots, click here to look / purchase this!
I also bought the Seventeen High Drama Intense Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black. I've got this before, and loved it so much, so i bought it again because i was running out of it. this is one of my favorite eyeliners since my old one ran out!
This was £3.99 in Boots, click here to look / purchase it!
I also bought this choker styled
bracelet from Newlook, it came with the half peace sign charm, but i had a gold necklaces that broke so i added it to it, i think i will make this into a little charm bracelet! it came with 3 bracelets and my best-friend has the other half to the charm. :) her half is white with a black circle in it, and mine is black with a white circle in it! Hi guys! today i had a little pamper day for myself, since i was being really stressed at school with exams and just really wanted to un-wind. i thought since this is my first pamper day in months, i thought i would blog about what i did, because for me, my blog is where i can let things out and relax! so lets get into it!
So, the first thing i did was had a lovely hot bath. i used the Matey Bubble Bath, i get these most years in my stockings and i still love them :)
excuse my wrinkely looking hands in this.. :)
First i applied the Soap & Glory sugar scrub, scrub. i put this just above my elbows. then i put the whipped shower cream by Soap & Glory, i foamed this up all over my body and washed it off. After i did those, i put my shampoo in, i use the TRESemme luxurious moisture shampoo, which is really good because it really locks in moisture. before i put the matching conditioner on, i rubbed root to tips my soap & glory hair supply hair mask. after this, i put my conditioner on after i washed it out.
next, i simply left my hair in a turby towel for about 3 hours, but you dont have to do it that long, it just makes my hair more softer!
next i ran some hair oil through my hair to make it more soft!
then i washed my face with the neutrogena grapfruit facewash!
lastly, i bunged my hair up in a messy bun, then i did a simple makeup look with a seventeen eyeliner liquid eyeliner, the rimmel london wake me up concelear, the soap and glory thick and fast mascara and benetint. i applied makeup just in case i go out (or take a few selfies)!
this is a really laidback blogpost, so i hope thats ok. sorry i didnt really go in depth with everything!

Hi everyone! I'm doing another blog post! ok, ok, you may have noticed i have been getting really enthusiastic with my blog, and posting more blog posts, this is purely because i want you to enjoy my blog! and just to let you know, yesterday i reached 4500 page-views! its unbelievable how many of you read it! so just a little thank-you to everyone who takes there time to actually read my blog, which is astonishing!
So enough of all of my rambling, today i am going to do a review on my Urban Decay Naked 3, and show you some swatches! as some of you may of know i got the Naked 3 for Christmas, and i mentioned it in my What I Got For Christmas 2014 post, so you can go check that out if you wish!
The packaging for the Naked 3 is great! it is much more last longing than the Original Naked, because it is a metal sort material!
On the "box", the words Naked 3 Urban Decay are almost 3D-ish because if you look atr it from a side, it is coming out of the palette!
I love the colours the box is, because the pink and the gold really stand out, but not i a tacky way, its very subtle, but effective.
The colours in this are TO DIE FORR!!! they are so lovely! my favourites are Liar, Blackheart, and Dust! some people may think as this is dear, it is a waste of money, but its not! its really going to last you a year at least! so its super worth-it!
Colours (left to right) - Burnout, Dust, Strange.
These are a few of my favourite colours! >>
^^
Colours (left to right) - Trick, Buzz, Limit.
Overall, i love this palette and it is worth the money! the colours stay on most of the day! also, the palette comes with 4 primes with a weeks worth in each of them! although, i can't find mine at the moment because i have lost them... :/
I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and let me know in the comments what you think!
